How To Style Your Own Hair

To achieve this look, Redken stylist Noah Hatton provides these styling tips:

Step 1.Place a dollop of firm hold gel in the palm of your hand.
Step 2. Emulsify product in the palms of your hands.
Step 3. Apply product from roots to ends evenly, on damp hair.
Step 4. Work fingers in hair to get the shape, separation the product will give shine and hold.

Step 1. For color, the stylist used a clear glaze-Cellophane's by Sebastian. The clear glaze adds shine and is great for guys who don't condition their hair.
Step 2. This model has fine, but thick hair and it was first cut dry. Then it was shampooed
Step 3. Only two products were used in this model's hair: a light leave in conditioner by Paul Mitchell and Gellac by Bumble and bumble. The Gellac provides good hold and added even more shine.
Tip: When working with Gellac you need to apply and style fast. This product dries very quickly!

Step 1. After you get out of the shower, vigorously dry your hair with a towel to almost lightly damp.
Step 2.Take a healthy amount of firm hold gel and apply all the way through roots to ends. This will give you the hold and texture you want with wavy hair like the model in image.
Step 3. Use your fingers as a brush and push back to create desired hair movement.

You can also use a vent brush with wide bristles.
Step 4. Let the hair dry completely while you get ready for your day. Just before you leave the house use a dime size of hair wax for shine and malleability. This will allow you to brush your hair back into place with your hands all day long.
